Goodbye my friend. When you showed up on the porch in -5 weather, I had no idea what a great cat you would turn out to be. I hope you found your way to our other friends who have gone on before.
Note to readers: Jerry died from a blood infection transmitted to him by some "unknown insect". The vets don't even know how it is transmitted but they do know the lethality of its effect. He was diagnosed with Hemo-plasmosis, a breaking down of the red blood cells in his body leading to anemia and eventual death. 72 hours is all it took. Take this to heart, if your cat has an "unexplained" infection or high fever, ask for bloodwork to be done ASAP! His symptoms were very similar to Feluk at the onset. Lethargy, fever, not eating. Had he been diagnosed more quickly it might have given us time to save his life.
He will be missed.
Love,
CJ
