I'm writing to tell you about a rural Missouri no-kill, non-profit, animal rescue which desperately needs our help. I have no affiliation with this group, just first-hand experience with what it is trying to accomplish and the huge challenges it is facing. I'm also the forever mom of Ebba, one of the puppy-mill survivors saved by this group.
The rescue is S.T.A.F.F. - which stands for Society for Treatment of Abandoned and Fractured Friends.
STAFF is located in Sunrise Beach, MO - near Lake of the Ozarks. It ts truly amazing how much the people of this small community have given, and keep giving, to enable the success of STAFF. But hard economic times are now taking an extraordinary toll on all people in this part of MO, while the number of animals coming into STAFF is steadily increasing.
Commercial breeders in this area of MO are surrendering their dogs, in greater numbers than ever before. People lose their job, then they lose their home, and many are moving out and leaving Fido and Morris behind. Trigger, Billie and Betsy are also at risk, and STAFF provides care for these animals as well; requiring it to rent nearby farmland and out-buildings.
Could you spare $1, a bag of pet food, or the cost of a bale of hay or a bag of oats? Please help....
