Wash. nonprofit offers to shelter some King County animals

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — The Progressive Animal Welfare Society has offered to shelter dogs and cats from four King County cities in response to the county's planned closure of the King County Animal Shelter.
The 42-year-old organization is offering to shelter dogs and cats from the cities of Shoreline, Bothell, Woodinville and Lake Forest Park.

King County oversees shelter services for 32 cities. King County executive Kurt Tripplett announced last month the county will stop providing shelter services by Nov. 1.
