Mobile County authorities take ill birds from home

DAWES, Ala. — Mobile County authorities seized about 150 undernourished birds from a home in Dawes.
Authorities who found the birds Tuesday were seeking a person of interest for questioning.

County spokeswoman Nancy Johnson said the hens and roosters were taken to the Mobile County Animal Shelter. She said gloves used to train birds for fighting were also found at the home.
Johnson said that once the birds are healthy enough, homes will be sought for them.
